There have been a few cheques coming in from modellers wanting to purchase issue 11 of the Australian Journal of Railway Modelling (AJRM) made out to the incorrect business name.

Please note that cheques and money orders should be made out to Branchline Modeller Publications, the publisher of Australian Journal of Railway Modelling (AJRM).

So far I have been a bit lucky in that most cheques made out to Australian Journal of Railway Modelling or AJRM have been successfully banked. However, just to be on the safe side, please remember that payments need to be made out to Branchline Modeller Publications.

A couple of trips next week

The Sydney Exhibition last weekend was entertaining and it was great to catch up with so many people. AJRM was available for sale at a number of the commercial outlets which was good to see.

Stephen is working away on the next issue. We had a good chat about things today before we both head off on trips next week.

Stephen is heading up north (NSW) and has quite a program of people to visit. He will be away for a week and is unlikely to have regular email contact in that time. I will also be away – off to the USA – for a couple of weeks. I will have email contact where I’ll be staying and should be able to respond to any questions. I will be in touch with Stephen when he returns from his trip away.

Suffice to say, there’s plenty happening all over the place!

AJRM at Sydney Model Railway Exhibition

This coming weekend is the Sydney Model Railway Exhibition at Liverpool.

Both Stephen and I will be attending on Saturday and Stephen will also be about on the Sunday as well. AJRM should be available for sale at the exhibition from Bergs Hobbies, Casula Hobbies, Gwydir Valley, and IDR/MicroModels Hobbyland from Hornsby. Railroad Model Craftsman may also be selling AJRM too!

The exhibition is always a great opportunity to catch up with fellow railway modellers, check out some great exhibition layouts, and do a spot of shopping from the commercial outlets.

Now, if only the forecast Sydney weather for Saturday would be just as enticing….

Hobby shops

The Australian Journal of Railway Modelling (AJRM) is available from a number of hobby shops around Australia. A full listing is under the “Retail sales” tab at the top of the page.

Our newest stockist of the magazine is Gosford Hobbies on the Central Coast of NSW.  

If your local hobby shop doesn’t stock AJRM or has recently run out of copies, please get them to contact us.

AJRM at Caulfield Exhibition

An update for you regarding the Caulfield Exhibition this weekend. Information about the exhibition can be found on the exhibition flyer.

Unfortunately, a family commitment on Saturday at home in Canberra will prevent me from attending the exhibition this year. However, Stephen is still on track to be at the Caulfield Exhibition on the Sunday.

Stephen will be bringing a box or two of AJRM Issue 11 on Sunday to re-supply some of the commercial stands at Caulfield, including Branchline Hobbies and Gwydir Valley Models. Casula Hobbies may also be selling AJRM over the weekend.

And if you’re in the Melbourne CBD, you might find AJRM in stock at both Hearns Hobbies and the Victorian Hobby Centre. Both shops have previously taken delivery of AJRM. If they are out of stock, ask them to re-order, or you can purchase AJRM directly from us here.

I trust the Caulfield Exhibition will be a great success over the coming weekend.

Caulfield Model Railway Exhibition 2011

The Caulfield Model Railway Exhibition is coming up soon. The exhibition is on at Caulfield Racecourse on the weekend of 20-21 August. You can download the exhibition flyer here.

Both Stephen and I will be there. I will be at the exhibition on the Saturday and Stephen on the Sunday.

Next issue coming together

The next issue of AJRM is starting to come together. I met up with Stephen briefly yesterday at the Malkara Exhibition in Canberra and he gave me a quick overview of how the next issue is coming along.

A summary of the Malkara exhibition can be found on the Armchair Modeller Down Under blog. It was good to see Casula Hobbies and Railroad Model Craftsman selling AJRM at Malkara; even better seeing people walking around with a copy of the magazine in hand.

AJRM continues to sell well. However, we always like to make the magazine available more widely. If your local hobby shop doesn’t stock AJRM, get them to contact us (see the Contact tab at the top of the page) and we can arrange distribution.

As I have been away on-and-off during much of July with my full-time work commitments, it will be good to meet up with Stephen this week to discuss the progress of the next issue. I am confident that the next issue will be just as informative as the current issue – No. 11.
